MA Moving Image and Sound

My final Masters unit will consist of a full-length feature film, around the duration of 90 minutes or 120 minutes. Reasons for my decision of creating this is to challenge my authority as a director and to achieve much greater goals, improving one film that goes along, while being responsible for a large cast and crew when any obstacles stand in the way throughout the course of making this. The film is titled “I’m Still Here” a heartwarming drama centred on Matthew Grey, a young loner suffering from a terminal illness who has been told that he hasn’t got very long to live. The powerful film explores the five stages of grief as Matthew battles through his final months in an attempt to right the wrongs around him and prevent a series of events that tore his family apart, from repeating themselves for the family who live across the hall. We have shot the film in a specific technique known as the Dogme 95 manifesto to create a naturalistic approach for a more believable and convincing story. From this unit I will hope to gain recognition and receive a powerful reputation as an ambitious and hardworking filmmaker.
