MA Moving Image and Sound

Going back some years my work was a hotchpotch of ideas about performance as physical body, photography and video. My intention was to explore my new found object (myself) both internally (as state of mind) and externally (as image). Since performing Cathy Berberians` “Stripsody” in 2007 I became fascinated with the power of the human voice and how through the voice I could convey the intensity and purpose that my work was missing.

Sound Art as a field of study opened new possibilities for the development of my practice, a practice that explores themes such as identity, mass consumption, meaning and nonsense, satyr and playfulness.

Through spontaneous live actions in front of an audience or improvised video performances I use the voice to express my ideas/views about the world/society/individual and also as a tool for artistic experimentation using gadgets such as toy microphones, samplers and voice effects.
