‘FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out’ looks at the monotanous lives of ‘indispensable’ objects among a vast and lonely city with existentialism at the root.

It’s a series of animated shorts that follow three everyday objects: The Sandwich, the Lamp and the Sketchbook as they go about cameo scenarios and everyday activities whilst articulating their dreams, purpose, motive, fears and restraints.

Pieces of the complex London background were divided with simple angular shapes and regular colour.

The aim was to integrate my city illustration into context with bold individual characters and emotion provoking narrative using a newly built animation skill set.

Physical figures were modelled as a way of ‘sketching’ the characters and the animations were drawn from those, creating a consistent and innovative style.

Viewers will empathise with them, laugh at them and consider their own place, ambition, and the comical irony in that we hold back, find limitation, routine and distraction to ease the Fear Of Missing Out.
