MA Fashion work by Olivia Tullett

Throughout my Masters I have researched into materials and form, working with cutting and moulding techniques in wool felt and leather.

My masters project focuses on the use of various qualities of naturally tanned leather using a variety of hand and machine techniques.

Referencing traditional saddlery and man-made and natural body armour I have produced a series of hand crafted, bespoke pieces of body adornment which shape and mould around the neck and shoulders. These graduate in detail and scale from the minimal to multiple layers and top stitched detail.

My MA has allowed me the opportunity to focus on experimentation with new materials and processes, which have built upon my previous skills and professional experience in women’s ready to wear. This has challenged my design approach and methodology extensively.
