My background and interests lie in typography but I have used my studies in MA Communication Design to broaden my skills and expand my critical thinking. I like to challenge myself to develop new skills alongside existing ones to add dynamic to my work.

My practice is a mixture of personal work and projects that tackle social issues. I designed a project during my MA addressing the issue of intergenerational activity which was shortlisted in The RSA Student Design Awards for 2012 under the brief ‘Something for Everyone’. From this I have since been working with a local First School to develop this into a working project that can benefit both the school and local community. I rely on personal experiences and knowledge to help inspire my work, as this helps me create meaningful outcomes with practical solutions.

Personal work is an aspect that I like to incorporate into my practice as it challenges me to translate personal experiences into something accessible to the wider public.

In the development stages of a project my work is often very exploratory and experimental, I investigate many lines of enquiry which allows me to develop new ideas and add depth to my outcome.
