The BA Film and Moving Image Production course is taught by noted film makers, sound artists and corporate films specialists.
Liam Wells teaches across the three years of the course in a range of subjects including; editing craft, visual and narrative storytelling, sound design and contextual studies. Liam’s teaching largely focuses upon first year and third year fiction film production, but also on the development of academic writing and relationships between theory and practice. Liam’s role includes industry engagement, curriculum development and leading the academic team throughout the year. Dan is an award winning filmmaker, with feature film work distributed worldwide, including nationwide cinema release for the critically acclaimed The Man Inside. Now inspiring a new generation of Independent filmmakers as Senior Lecturer in film production at NUA, by providing industry-relevant experience and a diverse skill-set, whilst being equally passionate about creating and fostering opportunities and links to the UK film industry. Suri brings nearly 25 years of industry experience as a film and television director to his role as a 0.5 lecturer in Film and Moving Image Production. His awards include three BAFTA nominations, winner of Raindance UK, Yubari, Chicago and other festivals. His international reputation recognises feature films and television directing in the United States, Australia, South America, India and across Europe. As a writer, Suri has adapted three Shakespeare tragedies as short films and has a feature length adaptation of Hamlet in development. A graduate of both the AUB (1987) and the NFTS (1990, Fiction Direction) Suri is passionate about teaching and learning and has led workshops at a number of UK film schools.
