Course Leader

Sue Chowles

Sue’s high profile career has seen her freelance for John Flett, Bodymap, Bernstock/Speirs and Harvey Nichols before forming international designer fashion label. As Design Director of Chowles-Munday she exhibited at London Fashion Week and was commissioned to design a collection exclusively for Liberty’s of London. Her distinguished career in fashion higher education has seen her fulfil lecturing positions at Nottingham Polytechnic, BA Subject Leader at the University of Brighton, MA Principal Lecturer at the London College of Fashion and the Sri Lankan Institute of Design and Technology. Her current research investigates the importance of preserving the integrity of couture craftsmanship and how it is vital that future generations are educated and informed to protect the heritage of traditional skills. Kevin Freeman

Senior Lecturer

Kevin Freeman

As Senior Lecturer on the BA Fashion Course, Kevin brings over 20 years experience in design, cut and construction in the couture and luxury fashion arena. He established his first label, Diva in London in the early 90s followed by periods as Assistant Designer at Catherine Rayner and Angela Stone in Chelsea. He set up his current couture label, Renaissance, in 2005. He has been regularly featured in high spec editorial and one of his couture pieces was featured in an exhibition curated by Vogue Italia in Milan in 2009. Read Kevin’s staff profile.

Tom Crisp NUA Fashion Lecturer in Studio


Tom Crisp

Tom Crisp is a Lecturer in BA (Hons) Fashion who is responsible for the coordinating the Year One experience and providing specialist input at all three levels of the course. Tom’s teaching is informed by his background working at the top level of the menswear industry and this is underpinned by teaching experience at the London College of Fashion on the design and business courses. Tom finds developments in the emerging fashion technology ecosystem exciting and has a particular interest in denim. Read Tom’s staff profile.
